Before movies, our primary source of dramatic entertainment came from radio shows and theatre. The latter, in fact, is one of the oldest performing arts, with twisty roots dating back as far as classical Athens of 6th century BC, where the vibrant tradition of theatre first blossomed and expanded throughout the world.
